The CPS Group team will be dusting off their bicycles and pulling on their lycra leggings next month as they embark on a 26 mile cycle ride in aid of Ty Hafan.
The Taff Cycle Challenge takes place on Sunday September 7th when the team will meet in Merthyr Tydfil before cycling down the Taff Trail to Cardiff. The trail will take them along former railway lines, canal paths and tram ways, through the South Wales Valleys.
The CPS Group team is both nervous and excited about the prospect but Director Spencer Symmons has full faith in the would-be cyclists. He says, “I’m not sure if they know what they’re letting themselves in for – but I have a feeling we may need to provide some extra padding in the office seating on Monday morning!
He adds, “In all seriousness though, the team wanted to club together to drum up sponsorship money for a charity which truly deserves every penny they receive.”
Ty Hafan provides a wide range of support and services to life-limited children, young people and their families. Over the past 15 years, almost 600 children and their families have benefitted from care and support provided at the Ty Hafan hospice and in their homes – and in the future, they expect this number to rise significantly.
Spencer says, “Ty Hafan’s mission is to identify and make contact with every life-limited child in Wales and offer them their unique care and support. Hopefully, at CPS Group, we will be able to contribute to the funds required to carry out this important work.”
