As we bid farewell to 2023, we’re looking back on a year marked by significant milestones at CPS Group (UK) Limited. Celebrating two decades in the industry, we continued to source the best tech talent across the UK & Europe, undertook a bold brand refresh, launched four new websites, and executed our most daring marketing campaigns to date.
Join us as we recap the highlights of our year.
Growth & Expansion
Welcoming new faces is always a joy, and 2023 was no exception. From Recruitment Consultants to Team Managers, Business Development and Marketing, we welcomed 11 new starters to our team throughout the year.
Team Europe grew, with Nathan Williams and Scott Lawrence joining Jacob Bloom and Luke Boyle. They’ve had a stormer of a year, supporting multiple blue-chip organisations to scale their teams with the highest quality German, Dutch and French-speaking resources. They’re wrapping up the year with an additional 1600 SAP Freelancers on our database across the DACH region and 850 new SAP freelancers across the Benelux region. Our Microsoft Dynamics function has also gone from strength to strength, growing our network and client base considerably, setting up an incredibly busy 2024.
Team Bristol has continued to go from strength to strength. There were well-deserved promotions for Matt Jacob and Zach Bennett to Senior Consultants, recognising their dedication and continued development. Sam John, Reece Williams and Bethany Graham also came on board, bringing with them lots of experience and know-how. We moved into new shiny offices in Beacon Tower with our very own Star Wars Themed break-out kitchen (more on that at a later date). Aimee Ford also welcomed little baby Aston and we’re looking forward to her return in 2024!
Brand Refresh & Website Launches
Embracing change, we underwent a brand refresh that reflects our evolution and commitment to staying at the forefront of the industry. This included the launch of four brand-new websites for each of our brands, including CPS, FaulknerScott and Fuse Digital Consulting. This significant step forward marked a major milestone in our journey, and it was great to work with other Welsh businesses to make the project a success. Thank you to Spindogs and Lumen SEO for collaborating with us.
20th Anniversary Celebrations
To celebrate 20 years of business, we took standing out from the crowd to the next level with a little help from our friends at Rebel Lion Advertising. Our Founder & Group CEO, Jason Grandin, brought our remarkable journey to life in our epic 20th Anniversary Vodcast, The CPS Story: Lessons from 20 Years in Business.
To amplify the celebration of our 20 years in the industry, we didn’t just stop at an epic vodcast. We went BIG, quite literally, by gracing Cardiff Central Train Station with a show-stopping vinyl.
We kicked off the summer in style with our AGM which involved an overnight stay for the entire team at Cadbury House Hotel, Health Club & Spa. We reviewed our annual performance and explored our plans and vision for the year ahead, before embarking on a highly competitive treasure hunt. The big finale was a Black-Tie Awards Ceremony & Dinner hosted by our very own Huw Pryce. The drinks were flowing along with some show-stopping karaoke and dancing, making it a night to remember.
The summer also saw the return of the annual CPS Group Sports Day. We all got together and enjoyed some delicious pizza, drinks and baseball in the sun. Good vibes all around! Whilst we’re on the topic of sports, we also took home the trophy and were crowned the Business Fives Ltd Cardiff Champions of 2023. A big shout out to the boys who took part and secured the win. Not only did they bring home the trophy, but they also won £350 for our charity partner, City Hospice.
We proudly extended our partnership with City Hospice for another year. Our team participated in a number of fantastic fundraising events, including their award-winning Forever Flowers campaign. Laura Williams mastered face painting, Lisa Scanlan and Jon McCarthy were on balloon duty, and Stuart Swift alongside FaulknerScott’s Donna Morgan led the bucket collections. August saw us take part in their Road to the World Cup Challenge. We ran, walked, cycled and rowed our way through the month, smashing our initial target of 900 miles, and instead finishing on 1028.34 miles and raising over £300.
And with that, we bring the bustling year of 2023 to a close. Here’s to the highs, the lows, and, most importantly, the incredible teamwork that continued to push us forward in 2023. We’re grateful for the continued support of our team, clients, and partners, and we look forward to working with you in 2024.
From everyone at CPS Group, Merry Christmas! Here’s to a prosperous and fulfilling New Year ahead.
