Reporting to the Financial Controller this role is to be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our small but well-established finance department together with preparation of the monthly management accounts. This position will suit a Part or Qualified Accountant who is keen to progress in their career and who is pragmatic, has good communication skills and a high attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Financial Controller and working within the finance department, you will be responsible for the following:
- Preparation of management accounts
- Financial reconciliations and control of key balance sheet accounts
- Preparing and reviewing journals
- Supervision and assistance to finance administrators
- Oversee all day-to-day financial transactions
- Payroll review
- VAT returns & EC sales/Intrastat
- Year-end accounts and audit queries
- Stock control and assistance to supply chain team
- Systems and controls
- Other ad hoc financial related tasks
Requirements:

What you’ll be doing
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Data Science and Insight team as a Project Lead. We have a wide-ranging client list, working with some of the biggest and innovative brands in the UK across utilities, gaming, publishing, retail and consumer packaged goods, leisure, financial services and beyond.
You will be responsible for overseeing and managing a wide range of projects, working closely with our data scientists to ensure timely deliveries, to budget and to the high standards of delivery our clients expect. CPS are working with a global organization to source document controller's in London. This role is for a person with a keen eye for detail and a non digital skill set with manual document review
Must already have or be eligible for SC Clearance, be a UK citizen, have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum of 5 years continuously with no breaks in between and have previous relevant experience in reviewing sensitive information.
Position Overview:
You will be a key part a document control team reviewing our client's sensitive information including classified files. Your primary responsibility will involve meticulously scrutiny of confidential documentation, compiling comprehensive reports on your findings, and upholding the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inputting client data onto our secure databases but a proven track record of manual file review is essential.
- Conducting sensitivity checks on documentation to identify and handle confidential and top-secret information appropriately.
- Managing various client requests promptly and professionally.
- Fulfilling ad-hoc administrative and site support duties as needed.
- Engaging in manual handling tasks to retrieve data efficiently.

Motor Bodily Injury Claims Handler

This means we provide a range of functions including customer service, claims handling, underwriting, pricing and other car insurance related functions. We're a data-driven, agile company where everyone is expected to come up with ideas and help implement them to continually improve what we do and how we do it. Our aim is to create and maintain an industry-leading customer experience.
Rostella provides pricing services to both Hedgehog and 1Cover, with both companies looking to grow their businesses. We have an exciting opportunity for a Motor Bodily Injury Claims Handler to join us and directly influence our customer experience in Claims. You will manage a case load of MOJ and OIC portal claims and deal directly with policyholders to resolve their claim, as well as liaising with stakeholders from across all areas of the business including customer service and underwriting. As a specialist in bodily injury claims, you will have a responsibility to support and coach more junior members of the team and continuously drive improvement in the service we deliver.
While the office is based in Cardiff, the position offers the flexibility of hybrid working.
Your key responsibilities:
- Assess indemnity, liability and quantum on motor claims, predominantly for injury but also including credit hire and property damage.
- Negotiate settlement of claims
- Be able to persuade claimants to accept our offer to intervene and deal with damage, hire and/or claims for bodily injury
- Be conversant with the business’ compliance procedures and risks to ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements
- Ensure quality, service standards and productivity levels are maintained to a high standard and in line with Company expectations
- Contribute positively to team meetings and “one to one” performance and development discussions
- Display awareness of identifying potential fraud using knowledge of fraud indicators, SIRA or other available tools
- Responsible for tracking of all claims litigation
- Completing applications for and filing CRU certificates
- Carrying out any other tasks deemed appropriate to support the Claims team
Your skillset and experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a motor claims environment handling bodily injury claims
- Working knowledge of the current market trends, case law and tools required to challenge any third-party claim
- Strong communicator with an ability to build relationships with customers, third parties and Hedgehog suppliers
- Strong organisational skills and proven ability to multi-task
- Ability to interpret data to identify trends to inform action
- Experience of handling credit-hire (desirable)
- Experience of handling Scottish claims (desirable)
